Our baby boy has turned one!!!!! One year ago (May 12th at 1:06 pm) our lives changed forever. You can't imagine or even describe to someone the love that you have for your baby. It is something that you have to experience for yourself. Once you hold that little life in your arms for the first time your world is changed forever. I've never been more exhausted mentally or physically than I am now and I wouldn't change it for the world. I never thought I'd be emotional about him turning one but I was, or it could be that we thought we had a $7,000 plumbing problem!!! (more on that later)
One Year Update.
At a year old, Antonio is strong-minded, independent, adventurous curious, tough, energetic, loving little guy. His smile and laugh lights up the room. Antonio is a very busy little guy walking, running, or climbing keep him and me busy during the day. He still nurses so we haven't started cow milk yet, but he loves water from his straw cup. His favorite show is Curious George. He isn't talking much yet only a few words: Dada, Mama, and he has said duck a few times. He loves to be naked and outside... sometimes at the same time. Lol! He hates diaper changes and when you take something away from him. We have had our fair share of accidents: a black finger nail, busted lips and bumps on the head, but no hospital visits.... yet! He loves to point and pays attention when you point to something. If you build a tower he will make a b-line to knock it down! He is a pretty good eater, but has his days of being picky! Some of his favorite foods are hot dogs, all carbs, spinach, lima beans, chick peas, fajitas, yogurt, banana, eggs, oranges, and I guess we can now add CAKE! Antonio normally takes two naps a day sometimes three if I'm lucky. He loves bath time and cries when we take him out. He attends Little Gym once a week and we will be starting swimming lessons soon! This first year went by in the blink of an eye, we hope that life slows down just a little bit. We can't wait to see what Antonio has in store for us this year.
Antonio's Stats:
Height: 28.5 inches (7.78%) We need to stretch this little boy!
Weight: 21 pounds 2 ounces (50.33%)
Head Circumference: 18 3/4 inches (88.8%) There are a lot of brains in there! Lol!
Antonio's First Birthday
Antonio's first birthday party was a blast. We set the bar pretty high at his first birthday and went all out. We are not sure how to top this birthday in the future. It was a pirate themed party. There were eye patches, hats, necklaces, and fake tattoos to wear. A homemade photo booth to take silly pictures. Yummy pirate snacks to eat. Outside we had two bounce houses (one for big kids and one for babies), crafts, a small pool, a sandbox to dig for treasure and a pinata. Antonio is a very loved little boy, there were over 60 people at the party!

Antonio loves Tami! She is the RN/Nurse Practitioner at the office. I prefer to have my appointments with her than with the actual doctor.

One Year Pictures!
We had our final photo session from our prepaid package with Kelly Williams Photography. I'm going to miss having professional pictures every three months. I hope to be able to do pictures once a year with her going forward. Here are a few of the pictures from the session.
Into everything.
You can't turn your back for a minute without Antonio geting into something. Even with all the child proofing it is amazing what he can get into.
Outdoor Boy.
Antonio loves to be outdoors. If he is upset we go outside, if we happen to walk by the front or back door we go outside, if someone else goes outside... we got outside. We wait outside for daddy to get home from work and Antonio likes to play in the rain.

I left a ladder out after hanging a few pictures. I found Antonio climbing it!
If Antonio is up while I'm working I let him play in the office. Recently, he got into my markers and paint.

Helping clean the garage.
Playing in the garage waiting on daddy.
Antonio's best bud, Austin, had his one year birthday a week before mine. It was a cookie and milk birthday. I had a blast playing in his backyard on the bouncy house.
Happy Birthday Austin!!!!
Our Plumbing Problem.
So back to the $7,000 plumbing problem.... the night before Antonio's birthday party our sink backed up. It had happened once before so we already had purchased a plumbing snake. Tony tried to clear the clog didn't have any luck. Saturday morning we called around trying to find a plumber that could come out to fix the problem before the party. RotoRooter came out and spent 3 HOURS trying to clear the clog, they finally put a camera in the pipe and 23 feet in he said we have a broken pipe. We couldn't see it on the video but he said in his experience it is a broken pipe. He wrote us a quote of $7,200 for the repair, poured some blue stuff in our sink and $350 later he left. Our sink was not usable, but we went on with the party and celebrated Antonio's birthday. On Sunday, Tony called a few places to get other quotes to replace the pipe. All the quotes were about the same and were just based off of the information that we told them. To make a long and stressful story short.... Ryan Stout from Aramendia was the last plumber to come out to give us a quote. We told him everything we were told about the pipe and he just didn't think that it sounded right. He was sure we just had a clog. To calm his own curiosity and for our benefit, he said that he wanted to try and clear the pipe, if he couldn't clear it he wouldn't charge us for trying. In about 15 minutes, he had the clog cleared and our sinks were draining. We are so pleased with Ryan we want to make sure that everyone we know gets his number and calls him for any plumbing, heating or ac problems. His number is 832.588.5456.

We borrowed a bounce house from a friend for the party and set it up in the house to play in.
Probably not the best place to attempt a somersault.
Poor thing had a fever.
Playing with the chalk board
Lounging in my nap nanny.
I think that Antonio is going to like our beach vacation in July!
I guess rinsing his mouth out with soap isn't going to work.
It cracks me up the way he sleeps. This is just one of his positions.
Kicking balls.
Taking a ride on a suitcase.
Antonio's funny sound.
Gross.... he caught a fly.
Until Next Time...
